We source our fragrances directly from authorized distributors, and none of our products are watered down or diluted. Introducing water into an alcohol- and oil-based fragrance would typically cause visible cloudiness, separation, or residue—it would not remain visually indistinguishable.
Fragrance color can also vary between production batches, and Byredo has recently changed the coloring of certain fragrances. Color and performance alone are not reliable indicators of authenticity.
Based on what you described, the fragrance was more likely temporarily affected by heat and agitation during transit. We recommend allowing it to rest in a cool, dark place for 5–7 days before evaluating it again.
